Happy Birthday Bibigul, Elsa, Nazgul, Nura, Pax, Red and Uhlan! ( who have I missed another 3?) Hard to believe that is them a year old all ready!! What are they all going to be doing today I wonder? Nura is just back from a couple of hours at a local beach and chasing Rabbits, she has just had her break of 4 chicken wings and is grabbing a nap before we head off to work with her. Hope they are all keeping well. |

The year has flown. And I often wonder about the others too...one went to people right in Virginia, I think. Shows what a year can do to the memory! Maybe sevendogs will fill in the gaps for us. Happy Birthday Nura, Nazgul, Bibigul, Elsa, Uhlan, Red, Pax , and the 'lost' 3. ov |

Happy Birthday Bibigul, Elsa, Nazgul, Nura, Pax, Red and Uhlan.....and the lost three who from my understanding all stayed in Virginia, Red#2 (all red boy) who sadly made his way over the rainbow bridge in January, the fawn/black male who looks like Elsa...named??, and the 'smallest female' (according to Vlad) named??...and color?? Elsa spent the day playing at the beach and playing with her new toys. I've taken a few photos I'll share as soon as I get them downloaded from the camera. Elsa has turned in to the most lovely yearling. She is amazing to watch. Her agility and grace, her strength and instinct leave me in awe. I am lucky to have her loyalty....she is a true friend. And......she would be a great mother! She has a wonderfully warm and soft tongue which she cleans us all with here ;) I agree it is hard to believe they are a year already.. Best wishes to all! My memory is totally shot even yesterday is a blurr never mind a year ago! I had it in my head there were 11 in the litter? Therefore still 3 'lost' not including the unfortunate other Red. I must be thinking about the litter my Ameerah came from as there were 11 in it. :dumb: Hopefully Sevendogs will be along at some point with news of the others. I look forward to the beach pics and totally agree with how wonderful these pups are Nura is an absolute star utterly faultless in everyway. Nura chilling with her best buddy Teasle Posted Image |

These taken July 7th - it was a very hot day this day, even down near the shore. Temps were to be 97 degrees fahrenheit by the end of the day. Elsa was panting and very hot from our walk! Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Next time we go, I will take photos of the beach where we let the Salukis run off leash. The area in these photos is more public and so we keep the dogs safe with us. Janet |

Here are a few pics taken from the school yard where we take the dogs to run. Elsa is getting faster all the time. She likes to keep up with her Saluki brothers Atreyu and Hadji. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Check out Elsa's tongue in this one!! She's working hard. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Enjoy! Janet |

No worries Mark and ov! Memory problems here, too ;) Great photo of Nura and Teasle! They look so cute together. Elsa and Hadji are best buddies at our house. Hadji is the feathered red and white parti colored Saluki in my photos. Thanks for sharing your photo. I would love to see more photos of the Tazy siblings if anyone would like to share some here. Hi Janet, I can't post photos...still! and because I have an antequated dial up service now, I could only see the first few pictues of Elsa. But she's such a pretty bitch. Has she been in season? I'm sure there were 10...not 11. I think, the 6bitches and 4dogs. What happened to the red dog? accident? I'll try to send you a picture or 2 from my email. Mark...love the picture of Nura and Teasle. Everyone needs a best friend like that. ov |

Great pics Janet, Elsa just looks great! She has a bit more feathering than my Nura, maybe winter here will produce more feathering on Nura as well. Those beach shots look wonderful, with all the wood covered hill and the rock out crops in the sea. OV I can post some of the pics of Pax if you like? The all red male pup died apperantly chewed and injested wood treated a preservative which was toxic. Teasle is our youngest second to Nura so they have great fun together. I got 2/3 of the shot of Elsa taken from the back...the 3/4 side view. But it nicely shows that 'bench' of a back they all have, Janet! Such a shame about the dog. They are chewers...huge teeth and heads...so I really watched what Pax got in her mouth. I know that treated wood is used everywhere on decks and such (especially in the wetter states)...and seem to remember always thinking if i got a splinter it could be dangerous (that I doubt...i just have always known it's a worry). Mark, that would be oK. (Deviod offered, but it seemed a bother to ask someone else to post my own pictures!) I'll let you decide though...it's your forum. Otherwise, I can send them privately to Janet. ov |

Hi ov! No wonder I haven't seen any of Pax here. Sorry for your poor service....it must be frustrating. Thank you for the compliment for Elsa...she is a very pretty bitch. I chuckle at Vladimir, he calls her 'classy' whenever I send him a photo :) He can take all the credit for her good looks!! Myself, I think all the siblings are unique and amazing looking....a very good looking litter indeed. Elsa has still not been in season yet. I thought she was a while ago as my male, Atreyu, was so interested in her. But she wasn't. I am expecting it any time now. How about Pax? I would love to see photos of Pax. I will send you my email address again.. Janet |

Hahaha! Yes, the bench. I still think that is the best description of their backs! I've come to love her 'bench'....she is so solid to hug! I was so sad and shocked to hear about the red boy, too. Apparently his owner had left him and another dog with a friend to watch while he was away. That is when it happened. He was in an unfamiliar environment. Elsa chewed (still chews) on things outside, too, and I have to watch her closely as well. It would be nice to have a few photos of Pax here, too, ov. It's fun to see them all together in one post thread. Don't worry about asking someone to help you post pictures, ov, it is quite an easy thing to do for those of us who have the capability. Not a problem or hassle at all. Janet |

Thanks Mark! We had an especially long rainy cold winter and spring this year, so Elsa kept her fur to be warm I am sure. Vladimir always told me he thought she would end up looking like her father, Timur, who also has a lot of feathering. Oregon is the land of tall Douglas fir and Sitka spruce trees. They come down all the way to the hills above the ocean's edge. The rocky out crops are basalt. The 'sea stacks' around Cannon Beach were formed some 15 million years ago when massive fissure volcanoes erupted in what is now eastern Oregon and western Idaho forming the Columbia River Basalt Group, a flood of lava that covered 63,000 square miles. Over the ensuing millions of years, the Pacific Ocean has been pounding away at the these ancient lava flows and only the most stubborn chunks of basalt have survived as the beautiful sea stacks off Cannon Beach. Here are a few links with information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannon_Beach,_Oregon http://vulcan.wr.usgs.gov/Volcanoes/ColumbiaPlateau/Maps/map_columbia_plateau.html http://whatonearth.olehnielsen.dk/volcanoes.asp http://www.beachconnection.net/news/scary081907_1134.php More pretty pics of your Nura! Thanks...keep them coming. I am enjoying them very much. She looks so much like Elsa to me.. Janet |
