Some good pics here of salukis and afghans lure coursing at the BSFA in Newbury.

http://www.paulineoliverfotos.com/ Click on albums at bottom of homepage, then Lure Coursing May 10.

There are 100s of pics of whippets (which is fine by me as a whippet owner) but some good ones of the sals and afghans in amongst them.

Some absolutely cracking shots, shame they have muzzles on it kind of spoils the shots I feel.

I love this one: http://jalbum.net/browse/user/album/603831/;jsessionid=1cetk7y9hyzoc

I think most of them are unmuzzled, and the ones with muzzles probably have a bit of history with showing more interest in the other dog than the lure.

A lot of people knock lure coursing but if your dog will chase a lure it's a bit of fun for them in the summer months when their real work is out of the question.

I have found that the more live game a dog sees the less inclined it is to chase a lure, but there are worse ways of spending a Sunday. The BFSA has classes for all the sighthound breeds and it's great to contrast all the different running styles.
