Guess I'd better introduce myself before I get deleted as a long time lurker, lol. I've enjoyed reading the posts and viewing the pics of all the stunning dogs on here, and when my own two 12 week old bitches hit the field next season I hope to be able to contribute myself.

Good luck everyone

I wouldn't of deleted you as I know who you are, it's more the unknown no posters that will be deleted.

Do you still have your old Saluki bitch?

Regards

Mark

Northern Ireland yogi.

I retired old Goldie to an even older gentleman who wanted a companion dog several years ago Mark. You may remember I had bred her to Max, a son of Dancer and Smokey and produced Willow ( almost seven years ago now). Willow has recently gone to a pal who lives out in the country but I arranged for a mating to a pure saluki dog that John L. bred from a daughter of his old Star bitch to Khan Jihad, (brother to Kelvin's great dog Bill, which had been killed on a road by then). This dog performs well even in Irish pasture land.
These two pups are from that mating, so old Goldie lives on in them.

No yogi, I have no adult dogs just the two pups. I swore off the game two years ago when my old knee injury spoilt what was supposed to be a week of tramping the fields with J.L. in Lincs. After the first day my knee was so swollen and painfull that I couldn't straighten it and so had to confine myself the rest of the week to a bit of ferretting.
So when I got back home I decided to get a whippet and stick to that game.
But I miss the saluki type dog and although the weekly tramp from dawn till dark is over for me I'll be happy with my gentle stroll in good company as many times a year as I can get away across to the fens.
I looks like I may not be immortal after all
