I keep three of them. One female is my (Bibigul), one male will fly to Hawaii (Red) and one male is waiting for a new home. Deer hunting is going on, but today is Sunday, no hunting on Sundays, and I took all three puppies for a long walking trip, where all kind of game is frequent. First, they were chasing each other, as usual. Then, Bibigul, the female, acted like she was hunting. Looking intensely, listening and making dashes, stopping and watching again. Males continued playing, like silly pups. I raised litters of Laika and terriers, but this is my first experience with raising a litter of Saluki puppies. Is it a usual fact that females develop faster? Males also started showing signs of hunting interest, but they never run further, then a few yards from me. Bibigul run fast and far, obviously trying to find that smelly animal, perhaps, it was deer's smell. My puppies are four months old now.

I've always found bitches mature earlier and become more confident and interested in hunting than playing.

Still no interest in the last male pup?

I'm really surprised you are struggling to a good home for him.

A couple of people asked about him. Not sure they do know what they are going to buy. Some think only of the dog's picture, which they like.
