Hello! I thought I could finally introduce myself, so here we go.

I'm a 28-year-old female and I live in Finnish countryside with my friend and our sighthounds. Usually we live with these five:

Lessi, a mutt from Estonia, bitch, probably born in 1999:

Igor (Hiekkaniemen Aselepo), borzoi male born in 2000:

Ameena (Al-Yasamin Ameena), saluki bitch born in 2004, dam of our first litter:

Luumu (Ljubushka Udatchnik Borzois), borzoi bitch born in 2006, imported from Switzerland:

Hasina (Non Serviam Anima Divina), saluki female, the one we kept to ourselves from the litter born in May 2008:

And here are the rest:

Pitko (Perlean Onnenpoika), my friend's co-owned dachsie male, born in 1999.

Radda (Vapours Inca Moonlight), my first saluki (bitch, born in 2000) who lives elsewhere as she doesn't like living with other dogs:

Norppa (Qashani Najiya Bint Lub), saluki bitch born in 2005, co-owned with my mother:

Reaver (Qashani Tabia al-Badia), saluki bitch born in 2006, placed on breeding terms:

Mureena (Non Serviam Apage Satanas), saluki bitch from our first litter, placed on breeding terms, lives with Reaver:

So far I have bred one litter under the prefix Non Serviam. I'm very pleased with the result.

Tomorrow we are going to a lure coursing competition with Reaver, it will be her third time participating. Next month our Ameena will have her first start of the year as she has been busy with the babies. I'm starting to get nervous already

An update for my introduction..

Mureena (NS Apage Satanas) came back and has lived us for almost a year now. She also got her puppy-name back and we call her Kimble. Here is a picture of her at age of 13,5 months:

Her sister Hasina (NS Anima Divina) is very happy with Kimble. Here is a picture of her:

So now I live with three salukis, which is much better than one :D

I placed a brindle grizzle bitch from Yuzak S-litter to a friend of mine. Her name is Yuzak Suspiria but we call her Salma:

In Salma's owner's blog there are more pictures. For older posts follow the "Vanhemmat tekstit"-link. They also have a smooth grizzle bitch from Qashani K-litter, Kahilah Hama.

yogi - I know the place but have never been there :)

arcticgun - In Finland we don't really hunt with sighthounds but naturally we have more or less accidental chases every now and then. One might imagine that we meet plenty of game as we live in the countryside (N 61º 18' 14.91" E 24º 12' 52.86"), but the wild animals are usually very cautious. However, our mutt has caught two large members of the grouse family, of which the second one was HUGE. More recently our younger borzoi Luumu brought us another one that she had obviously caught with Hasina. A week later they caught a hare (and it was delicious).

In February our A-puppies will have their official debute in lure-coursing. You can imagine we are excited and nervous already :D

Here are some wonderful pictures taken in October at an unofficial competition. The photographer is Eero Juhola and the saluki is Hasina:

These large birds you talk about must be Capercaillie?

Great photos, they really look keen on that lure!

^ Yes. I wish they brought us black grouse instead (they are more common).

The black grouse are too fast to be an easy catch for any dog. We have very few Black grouse here these days and even less capercaillie.

Hi all, I guess it is time to say hello. I have been a member of saluki preservation since May of 2009 but never posted. I have been enjoying the introductions from others. I have a been owned by salukis since 1974. I have bred a few litters but none to speak of in comparison to others. I currently own with another friend this handsome 15 month old. He is a hand full.

BTW, I love the outline and underjaw of your pups from you one and only litter. The red and the grizzle are both stunning as pups and as adults.
